Big Book Retell by Room 13

We read a big book called 'The farm concert' and we drew pictures of some farm animals to use as characters. We used our green thinking hats to change the story a little. We used the puppet pals app and read part of the story. After this part, the animals whispered their sounds and the farmer could sleep!

We watched one of our butterflies come out of the chrysalis. Its wings were so small and then they dried and got bigger. Isn't it beautiful! We looked up the Monarch Butterfly in our "bug book" - so interesting. We set it free when it was ready to fly away. Good luck butterfly : )
As part of our Kia Kaha lessons, we have been talking about what makes us special and how we are all the same but also different. We traced around 3 children in Room 13 to show this. We have also each made a paper collage Pinehill  person to show some of our differences.
Mrs Davies has had to go to Mitre 10 Mega 3 times to buy more swan plants because our caterpillars are very hungry indeed and they are growing HUGE! These 3 were even having a race to eat the stem!!

We saw these 3 caterpillars under a leaf. We thought they looked so cute all lined up. We started talking about where we thought they might be going. Maybe caterpillar assembly??

Room 13 have been fascinated by all the caterpillars in our classroom. We use our scientist eyes to watch some special things happening, like these 2 caterpillars who have just moulted. We noticed that their head and front legs are all yellow and then they will become stripey!!

The fabulous Room 13!

This is us with our forest of swan plants behind us. Can you see the outlined pictures of 3 of us behind Mrs Davies?
